This is an extremely difficult hike for the 1st mile many grades are 30゚ angles with loose rocks and it is easy to slip and twist a joint. Polls are very helpful.

This route is unpredictable. Most of the time it's a lazy, easy-going float that takes about 3-4 hours, but during Arizona's monsoon season the flow rate deforms the terrain and topples trees allowing potential for some gnarly encounters along the way. 100cfs = potential for portaging, long trip times (minimal flow rate IMO) 200-400cfs = optimal 400 + = gets you above most of the rocks and stuff but potential to get whipped around.
