Beautiful area! If you want a bit of a shorter hike, take the tram from the parking area and get off at the last stop. We camped for two nights. There are some pools with water in them. Really lovely trip.

My wife and I had a great time doing this hike via Phoneline Trl. and up into Hutch's Pool. Amazing views the whole time.

Informative visitor's center. Lots of fun excursion trails to take and bathrooms along the way. You can ride the tram and hop on & off anytime for $10 adults and less for kids. We just went up for an hour then had to turn around.

Are you able to backpack here for a night?

I don't know how many times we did this road, 3.7 miles one way to the end. if you want more exercise, you can climb up to the phone line at the end of the tram, you will get around 9 miles total. not too bad though.

Terrific day out. Recommend taking the tram up to the end of the road (stop 9) this makes the hike about 8.5 miles rnd trip. Superb views in all directions - wicked good wild flowers in late March.
Crowd was scary at the trailhead, but most fell off at the first junction heading back down the canyon to the visitor center.

It was an unforgettable park with beautiful scenery of mountain ranges, small peaceful rivers, rows and rows of saguaro cacti, and and even a small "beach". I would definitely recommend this for your next vacation spot or day hike!

What is the relation of the map to this hike? Detroit Lake? This trail is in Arizona.

A lot of fun close to Tucson but still out in the middle of nature. There is a fee to get into this park and use the trail I recommend going with the season pass but that's just me.

Took the tram up to the 9th stop and wanted to hike down. Explored the 8th stop where you can get down to the water and it was absolutely beautiful!! Creek was refreshing. Explored and took some pictures until the monsoon started making it's way in. Went back up to the road and made our way down to the 6th stop where we got back on the tram to get to the beginning before the rains came (didn't want to lose the camera!) We plan on coming back very soon to do the complete hike!

Loved this area. Great Scenic view of Sabino Canyon after an initial upward climb on a series of switchbacks. The trail then intersects with several other trailswhere you can continue your upward journey or head back down to Sabino canyon. A good day hike
