The Waterfall Trail at the White Tanks is a simple yet beautiful hike. Very short hike only being about 1 mile up and 1 mile back down. Most of the trail was paved and when you get towards the waterfall it has stone steps to make the hike more accessible for people.

Nice trail. Plenty of places to rest, but not much shade.

This trail is very nice but the main pic for this trail with that beautiful water feature is not in White Tanks at all. This is a desert trail with a possible puddle during the rainy season. The trail is partially paved about 1/2 mile and the rest is dirt or small gravel with stone stairs. You’ll see lots of lizards, maybe some rabbits, if you’re lucky a deer, and so far so good no snakes.

I enjoy adding Black Rock loop to Waterfall trail. It's not as heavily trafficked as the waterfall trail.

Not a hiking area. Only walking path. Picture on here needs to be changed, as there is no bridge with a lake. Only a very small trickle of water at the “waterfall” site, unless you go during Monsoon season.

Very beautiful hike. We went during the Corona virus in March 2020. Thought the trail would be moderately trafficked but we had to see 100+ people. People every which way you looked.

We only completed the waterfall portion of the hike. It is a pretty quick, easy hike with nice views although it is very crowded. Great for dogs.

Pretty location. I prefer areas where there are no people or concrete paths but here with my husband and he prefers more flatter hikes. We were both pleased with the beautiful Sonoran desert scenery and did a few trails to get my miles in. Will probably go back for a sunset hike.

Easy kid friendly trail, so the main path to the waterfall was very crowded. The waterfall was a slow trickle but cool to see. Take the detour to Black Rock Loop; it was much less crowded and very peaceful - you won’t be disappointed! We saw lizards, bunnies and a mule deer on that trail.

I would rate this trail as easy. It is very flate for all of the trail except the waterfall and a good part of the trail is paved. A good hike for families with younger children or for those who are a bit older.

Black Rock Trail is fairly flat, I ended running a few laps around before hiking up to the waterfall. A slight trickle today after recent rain. Lots of families near the waterfall today.

Heavily trafficked trail full of families with children and pets. Not for those looking for adventure and peaceful nature. No waterfall when we went because no recent rain. Cool hieroglyphs.

Hiking

Hike was easy, was followed and watched by the ranger out there yelling at people to stay on the trail which messes with the whole experience, but great views. Water wasn’t running after the small rain storm we got, but i did see bobcat and was centimeters away from being bit by a mohave rattler so be careful even when walking the middle of the trail, watch 3 ft from the trail bc thats where it struck from with little warning. Not too long ago there were some photos taken of mountain lions on the other side of the mountain so just be vigilant and don’t wander off. Over all had a great hike, very pretty to see the city from some spots up there
