HikingGreat!Rocky

Our family hiked to the peak on 1/18. The parking lot is nowhere near finished, but parking at the Desert Museum is an easy alternative. We took the Kings Canyon wash up, which is slower but there are some petroglyphs. Take the Mama-goah road back for easier, shorter hiking if you come back the same route. Bring lots of WATER!

Good hike. The trail climbs at a very moderate pace and the view of the valley is great.

The trail head is closed for construction of a new parking lot so parking was a challenge. The trailhead is closed until 01/19/2021 so be aware. The hike was great.

Went counterclockwise on this loop. Up Kings Canyon Trail. Cloudy day so perfect for hiking this trail. Last 1 mile gets steep but views are worth it. Nice hard sand trail for the 1st 2 miles back down the other side then gets rocky. Definitely do the loop but watch the signs and stay left on the way back down.

Make sure to follow and lookout for the signs! I went off trail for about a mile because I passed one. It’s a great workout with tons of cacti :) it felt very long, but the view at the top is beautiful- it gives a true panorama of Tucson. Bring lots of water !! 3 bottles at least per person.

I made this into a loop. Going up king canyon was windy around mile 2 and became a bit more steep. Beautiful scenery.

Very fun hike. I’m not a newbie but not a pro! I enjoyed this. Lucky for me it sprinkled on the way down. I started at 11:20am and was back in my car around 2:40pm. Perfect day!

Nice trail, decently challenging! Especially towards the top. We Started out from the wash, which was annoying to walk on since it’s sandy/gravelly but other than that the trail had great viewsss - overall nice hike. And plenty of parking area. We didn’t have to pay or anything.
