very nice hike! tons of stairs if you go in to the monument. I think they said the stairs take you 1000 feet down in elevation so I would call it moderate in difficulty. there was a fee but definitely worth it to see the ruins

Park at the barricades off of the main road. Then walk about 7 minutes to Fisher Point Trailhead.
It's pretty flat for several miles, but very pretty.
Good for biking or horse riding it seems.
Once you get to that cool cave fork in the rod area, if you go left to Fisher point it is an awesome view. See my pics. If you go right there are some cool cliff dwellings/caves to check out.
I'd do it again, but. Would opt for using my bike next time.

Beautiful hike, we walked on the Arizona trail for a good three miles before we turned around. Saw deer and only a couple other people.

When doing this hike is important to know that many maps will not show an actual Walnut Canyon Trail, indeed much of this trail in not actually Walnut Canyon trail. You will start out doing the Fisher Point Trail then reach a point where you continue through the canyon rather than finish the remainder of Fisher Point trail.
