Very nice moderate trail with amazing desert scenery. Provides a loop opportunity between Hawk's Nest Trail, Dixie Mountain Loop, and Desert Tortoise Trail.
There was beautiful sceneries and great trails! I would definitely go back.
Beautiful area with so many different level hikes for every type of ability. Quite and peaceful to enjoy nature. You’ll occasionally hear a small plane go by since Deer Valley Airport is near by.Bring Water it is the desert
This trail was super flat with the exception of the hike to the summit. I think the only reason it was rated moderate instead of easy was because it was fairly long. This is only a tough workout if you run this trail.
This is my second hiking ever. First one was dixie summit. Loved this one but felt it was easier than the Dixie which was my first. This time i had great pair of hiking shoes. Not lot of steep climbing but for one or two. Long walk thought. Good 3+ miles if you finish and return via the dixie foot hills. Great cactus plants for scenic and photo ops.
Another amazing Trail within the Sonoran Preserve providing an alternative loop between Dixie Mountain Loop and Desert Tortoise Trail. Great Desert scenery and relatively easy to Hike. Proper hiking boots/shoes recommended as the trail is quite rocky. As with all the trails in this system, there are many sign posts along the route showing the GPS coordinates, elevation and distance.
