hiking 2-3 miles on this trail today... gorgeous view... moderate uphill, lots of rocks, very rocky trail, can't take eyes off your steps for even 2 seconds, lots of flowers and cactus, none of the trails are marked, so take your alltrails app or printed maps with you, lots of crossing paths with no marked intersection except one at the trailhead on Meridian Road, do NOT recommend this trail if it's rainy outside as you can see the ruts from rain water runoff and it would create a VERY slippery condition on an already treacherous trail

Great loop - killer views pretty much everywhere. There are two different trail heads - be alert watch for signs. I did this counterclockwise - May through September bring lots o water and start early!!

Wonderful trail for wildflowers. We went on March 25th, and started from N Usery Pass Rd. That made the hike just under 6 miles out and back to the saddle, skirting the north side of the Goldfield Mtns. Also saw the first rattlesnake of the season on the trail. He saw us first and rattled, so we paused to let him cross the trail and head on his merry way.

Did this trail a few days ago. We started at the north end and finished at the south end(left a car there). Wild flowers were beautiful as there has been a lot of rain. Good views and a good workout due to the distance. There is enough elevation to make it interesting too. We saw our first rattlesnake crossing the trail...keep your eyes and ears open! Some mountain bikers but they were mostly respectful of the hikers. This will become a regular spring hike!

Gave it 4 stars for all the wild horses that I was lucky enough to encounter. Nice and pretty trail besides. I did the double and went both ways, though I somehow only clocked that to be 9.5 miles.
