Escaped a 108 degree day in Phoenix for this 85 degree destination. We made the hike longer by going all the way around the lake though it did entail a small portion of trail I don’t think we were supposed to be on - but it was very walkable. Did lose the trail back from the lake to the parking area - it’s not well marked where the “right” trail “Ts” at the lake. Wound up in a neighborhood and had to back track a ways.. Beautiful setting with loads of birds, butterflies, dragonflies and a couple deer as well.

Lovely lake views but the trails were not well marked and there was a lot of cut/burnt trees. A bit sad.

Trail is across highway from google maps parking location. Took a while for us to find. Loved this trail and lake and so did my doggies. My dogs went in the lake too.
