Longer then we thought; lots of uneven rocks. My 5 year old daughter and 8 year old son completed; as well two midsize dogs. Pack plenty of water.

Great trail. Wonderful scenery ranging from arid desert to valley creeks. About a 4 hour ride that has a few challenging spots. Fully expect some AZ pinstriping.

Great hike, only saw one other couple hiking the entire time. Trail cairns get sparse and about one mile in and turned right instread of left and wound up going up around and up a bunch of red rock mountains. Good to use ‘turkey creek tank’ area as a reference to where you are... its a wet area with a couple of large distinctive trees.

amazing views at the end of the trail ! I don't consider this trail as streneous, but start it early because there is no shade.

Great trail, we didn’t see a single person the whole time. Beautiful scenery and great view from the top of the mountain. Bring your hiking poles because the last portion is a bit steep but otherwise it’s a fairly flat trail. Definitely not hard, even the last portion that is uphill was moderate as long as you’ve been hydrating, bring plenty of water since there is hardly any shade! We parked at the first parking lot just off the road and walked in to the trailhead down the dirt road. I wouldn’t recommend driving to the trailhead unless you have a car suited for off roading since there are some bumpy parts. We also saw a coyote driving down the main road to the parking lot so watch for wildlife on the trail. The trail back and out was probably more like 12 km, not 9.4 km as listed on the app.

Loved this hike for the beauty and solitude. It was well marked with cairns the whole way. I would not rate this hike as hard, however. You gain most of your elevation at the end and it was moderate. You spend most your time hiking through the dry creek beds. It had an odd end to the trail, so I kept going over the other side to add some mileage. I ended up on a cattle trail and circumnavigated my way back. The hike was definitely worth it. I only saw one other couple. It was peaceful and beautiful.

Nice hike with good views. We were the only ones on it. We are 58 and 60 and it wasn’t too difficult. The trek up to the top was a work out but plenty of shade to rest. 70 degrees today and I wouldn’t want to do it any warmer than that.
