This trail is a workout! We set out with every intention of completing the loop, but we were just too spent to do so. (Maybe next time.) The the is not well-marked, but previous hikers have done a great job utilizing rocks to mark the path. The views are incredible! Watch for the crested cactus and the two abandoned mines along this trail (see my pics). No facilities are close, so be sure to plan accordingly. Oh, and bring your trekking poles!

The east end of the loop has not been used in years! But if you actually follow closely to trail and the map it is a great adventure and worth exploring!

This western half of this trail is good until after it joins the Gila Monster Trail. At the point where the Gila Monster continues north and you’re supposed to leave it and head southeast, the trail peters out and all but disappears. With the help of the downloaded AllTrails map, we were able to find remnants of the old trail but most of it was overgrown and basically gone.
