I camped in Dead Horse Ranch State park overnight in Black Hawk Loop (Tents Only). Right next to it in Cooper's Hawk Loop there is a nice bathroom facility you can walk to if camping there & it has bathrooms with running water & free shower stalls.

This is a great trail and can be used to access the Tuzigoot ruins. Round trip to the ruins is about 3 miles from the parking lot. However, you cannot use the direct approach to the ruins, as that now crosses private property that is clearly marked no trespassing. It is obvious that at one point this was an accessible trail. I am including a partial map. Do not take the red path that leads to Tugboat Rd, as that's the path that crosses private property. Rather, from the parking lot, you will descend on a gravel road until taking a left on a footpath over a small creek. That shows on the map as the darker line along the Verde River. Turn right along the fainter black line towards the upper red line and the marsh, represented by the plants. You will walk along more marshland, which isn't represented on the map. Turn left onto the red path, which approaches the ruins from the back. Trails in the area are well marked as trails but don't tell you where you're going. We were warned about watching for snakes but didn't see any.
