Thought this was a easy trail mostly flat.
Fun trails. Not too elevated ups, and sweet downs. Bit rocky at times. As expected. Some sandy areas in the washes to beware of. Little shade, better in winter or spring. Stick to the left for tougher trails. Go right when your ready to head back. Well marked. Light traffic. Plenty of parking! Beginner trails for kids in same parking lot.
Love this trail! Gives you a good running challenge
Technical sections are advanced only. The inner loops are best for intermediate XC touring.
Good train for more advanced riders. Not a great place for beginners. All of the different turnoffs make for a great ride of any length.
Ran the 7-mile technical loop this morning, and although there were a handful of cars in the parking lot, I didn't see a single other person on the trail. It's still cool enough in the mornings that if you get to the park early, you'll be finished before the temperature breaks 90 degrees. This is important, because there isn't much shade along the route. This loop is less hilly than the competitive track at the McDowell Mountains, and there's a lot less loose rock, so it's an enjoyable place to run.
