First .5mile was in good shape, with easy flat terrain. Wanted to link trail to Patagonia for a day hike. Lower trail quickly became overgrown and impassable. Attempted some bush whacking . Canopy was 12 feet high down to 2ft tunnels. I will post images.

Goal was to hike Sonoita Creek Trail to Coal Mine Spring Trail, to Cat Cave Trail & then follow Sonoita Creek Trail back to form a big loop. Trailhead didn’t have trail names on the map. So we ended up starting on the wrong trail to start with. We ended up merging onto the correct trail briefly. Trails are marked with cairns. We missed the cairn indicating a turn that would have gotten us to Coal Mine Spring Trail, so we were bushwhacking our way along the creek at a very slow pace. Even ended up in private land. Eventually, we turned around as it was getting hot & we were concerned about keeping hydrated. Perhaps this ambitious hike could be done during much cooler weather.

ThisThis was a nice 3.5 mi trail that meandered around Sonoita creek on the EAST side of Patagonia lake. As mentioned in the earlier reviews, lots of cows and poop. But there was very little hindrance (just step around the paddies). The creek was crystal clear. There were some muddy spots, and "now-tis-the-season" for bugs. Again, not enough to give a lower rating. Be aware, there is another Sonoita creek trail on the WEST side of the Patagonia Lake. You need a permit from the Ranger station, (free). This trail is not listed on All-Trails, but is a nice 3 mile hike as well.
