Moderate, but a bit tough at the peaks.

Great hike to get away from the crowds. There are literally dozens of trails that are not marked on all trails or Google Maps but are still fully recognizable trails. There are tons of options for you to make your own custom loop trail.

Not a terribly hard trail, but if you want to follow this exact trail be prepared to look at your phone almost the entire time. You’ll hit about 3 different peaks, and they all had beautiful scenery! You can park in the church parking lot as long as it’s outside the hours of 10:30pm - 5am

Climb the two tallest peaks in Shadow Mountain — that’s what this is all about. The final push on both summits is a bit loose and steep. Very manageable, though. Hit this when it’s not 113 out — my two cents from today’s experience ;-)

Easier or you don’t try to stick strictly to the A.T. trail and just go on whichever trails you like.

This is a nice hike (with ups and downs). Just to be clear, there are no trail markers (contrary to Lookout Mountain), but the trails are easy to follow and you cannot get lost. Highly recommended as the wildflowers are in season now notably notch-leaved phacelia and asters. Bonus: you can stop in a Prayer Pavilion for a short meditation at the end of the hike (open 24 hours).

There is a great trail here but this recording doesn’t take it. Had to give up because several times the route leads up the side of a mountain. It should be re-recorded and then it would be spectacular.

Moderate? This is super easy and short; a lot of highway noise. However, it's fun to go up and down repeatedly rather than straight up then back down.

This was a nice trail, except for a hostile guy who had his dog off leash. It was mostly easy to moderate, but you cannot get to the peak without hand scrambling, which we were unable to do because we had our dogs with us. There was a lot of dogpoo to step over. It really needs signage to remind folks to keep their dogs on leash and to clean up after themselves. No bathrooms or trash cans. Directions through AllTrails took us to the church parking lot, but there is a culdesac on the other side you can go to if you’re worried you’ll get locked in.

I couldn’t stay on trail. I felt like it was difficult to follow. I’ll try it again. It was beautiful with views of the different ranges in the city.

Good workout in a short distance/amount of time. Go early because the sun beats down pretty bad once it comes up.

Very loose rocks. It’s called Shadow Mountain but the only shadow I saw all day was mine.
