Note: There is a $7 entrance fee if you do not have an annual pass. This is a nice mild level trail to start, once you start your incline to the top of the hill you begin to increase elevation rather quickly. This would explain the rating of Moderate, this hike has beautiful views and is a nice afternoon adventure. This is a beautiful trail in the McDowell Mountain Region, it is a wonderful area to get out and hike or ride the trails.

Super 4.5 mile trail for jogging, about 2 or 3 miles of it are smooth, not too steep, great views and well marked. Share with bikes but mostly good viz.

Beautiful today with the wildflowers blooming! Seeing the fountain going off in the distance in Fountain Hills was awesome. There is a $7 entrance fee but well worth it with those views and the amazing weather.

Nice leisurely trail. Would not consider it a moderate trail, pretty easy, if your in reasonable shape. We had a slithering friend cross our path along the way!

Note that there is a $7 entrance fee into the park if you don't have an annual pass. Also, the directions here if you just click on the link do not take you to the right place. Use the map they give you when you enter the park. It will save you some time. I would rate this trail as easy, not moderate, and it is very easy to follow. The views were great. There were several mountain bikes on the trail.

Nice hike on the easy end of moderate. Beautiful distant views earn the trail its name. Clockwise would be best but arrow near end of short Pemberton Trail entrance points other way. Go another few feet past arrow and turn left. Few other hikers but quite a few bikers.

A nice, easy hike that would be appropriate for just about anyone. There is very little elevation gain and the trail is nicely maintained. It's a great trail to spend some quality time in the desert without having to exert yourself. The trail by itself isn't too scenic, but the views are incredible. Be sure to stop along the way to appreciate all the vistas. Went on a Friday morning and ran into less than five people the entire time, which added to the overall experience. Probably won't be added to my rotation but definitely one I'll keep in mind for out-of-town guests looking to get outside. As someone else already mentioned, be mindful there is a fee to enter the park. It was $7/vehicle.

Very scenic. If you go when the blooms are out it is incredible. 360 degree view of four peaks, rio Verde, and ft hills. I would say easy to moderate.

Scenic Trail- proceed clockwise to encounter best valley & mountain views. Soft gravel on flats/rocky underfoot on elevations. Look for the Crested Saguaro!! We watched Fountain Hills fountain on the hour, saw Weavers Needle and Four Peaks as we hiked.

Nice trail I enjoyed it I like that you can’t see the city. I do feel with all the things all trail mentions they should tell you if it’s in a fee area!

I did the full loop plus and out and back of the cinch trail for an extra 1.2 miles. A nice trail, plenty of views once you get up on to the Lousley Hills of Four Peaks, the Verde River, the Supers and Weavers Needle. I’d say on the lower end of the moderate rating, although today still feeling full of Turkey and Thanksgiving it felt firmly in the moderate range.

I did this trail solo this morning. Only saw one other person. First time at McDowell....I really really liked this trail. I’m excited to go back to it once Fall hits because I bet it’s just beautiful. Although I really don’t know why it’s rates moderate. Little incline but you pretty much do that all at once and after you’ve already hiked about a mile in.

Fantastic. Good climb to start with rocky steep bits. Well maintained, thank you to everyone who shares the trail and supports the system
