Head South on San Tan Trail from the trailhead just west of San Tan Park Visitor Center. After roughly 2 miles of mid-grade uphill, there is a nice downhill while the trail turns west for about half of a mile before heading north. At the fork, West continues on San Tan Trail whereas East heads to Hedgehog Trail back to the trailhead. The San Tan Loop Trail is rated as a hard trail. This trail is perfect if you want to Enjoy the mix of Moderate uphill with some easy to moderate downhills. The elevation gain is spread fairly evenly over the course and there are plenty of benches along the way.

Great trail for the beginners that want to start challenging themselves. GPS tracks it at 5.4 miles with the elevation gain of 417. I am completely out of shape and the first time took me 1 hour 35 minutes. There are plenty of benches to stop and soak up the views while catching your breath.
