We went on a Tuesday at 7am. Wide, well-marked trail with quite a few bikers, only a few people on foot, and one person on horse. The name of this trail on the app is a little deceiving because you don’t actually see a trail marked “Malpais”. If you go clockwise you start at San tan and go to stargazer, to moonlight, to goldmine. But if you follow the map on this app it’s easy. Easy parking.

Nice park, pretty easy trail. I like the area but prefer hikes that are a bit more challenging.

Fee of $7 to park. Restrooms. Nice easy to moderately difficult when hiking up San Tan Mt top.

Easy Peezy, the intermediate rating is more about the distance demand than the climb
