Use Saguaro Access to start and parking will be right across the street. Great trail with a decent incline to start. Nice views with a neat mine to view along the way. Clearly defined and easy to follow. Some bike traffic so be sure to watch out. Good for dogs on leash, but watch loose rocks and some cholla in spots.

5-6” Cougar prints down one of the washes today. Stay on the marked paths and be cautious.

Pleasant hike. Trail itself isn’t very interesting but you are in a great area (Tonto NF) with spectacular scenery and a good amount of wildlife and vegetation on the trail.

7-25-19. Nice little Sunrise Hike to start the day! Trail was well maintained and easy to follow...a few bikers on the trail. Limited parking off main road..Trailhead begins across the Hwy. No bathrooms/Fees...Enjoy!

I started the trail going counter clockwise to get a steady incline for the first mile. After that the trail is moderately flat. I walked the first inclined mile and jogged most of the rest of the trail. Pretty cool cave just after that first mile if you start counter clockwise (off the right side of the trail). Hiked this on a Tuesday morning starting at 0930 and only encountered 1 biker right at the end. Great trail. I hit 4 miles exactly.

Lots of cool mountain bikers, but we had to get off the trail often. Everyone was chill though.

Excellent trail for running! Many bikers but we have to share the trails ;-)

Loved it! We went clockwise and liked the gradual rise to the highest part in the beginning when we were fresh and fired up. The 2nd half, looping back around was nice and easy, yet still a fun hike. March is an excellent time of year for this trail.

Went on a Wednesday, mid-morning, only a handful of other hikers and mountain bikers on the trail. Small dirt parking lot on one side of the road, trail head across the road. We hiked the loop clockwise which allowed for completing the higher elevation first with excellent views. Very gradual climb with some good switchbacks. Flattens out for the last half of the trail, still pretty with lots of greenery. Wildflowers starting to bloom. Trails are well marked, but it was helpful to use the recorded map on AllTrails to make sure we took all the correct turns. Very enjoyable hike!

Perfect trail for a cloudy morning. Beautiful views. We walked it clockwise which was perfect with most of the uphill first!!!

Nice views of Red Mt. and Salt River Valley, but a better mountain bike ride than hike.

Starts at Maricopa trailhead across the street from the parking lot. Decent elevation changes, but for the most part, an easy hike. Lots of bikers, but everyone was really nice and polite.
