This Scenic drive will take you through Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park West. You will enjoy beautiful mountain/rock formations and stands of saguaro cactus. From Interstate-10 go west on Speedway toward the Tucson Mountains. The name of the road changes to Gates Pass Blvd at Camino de Oeste. The drive itself can be done in a few hours but depending on the other activities it could easily occupy several days. Alternate Route option: There is a section of the drive that is a dirt road. If you do not want to drive the dirt road you can bypass it by staying straight on Sandario until you get to a 4 way stop. Turn right onto Picture Rocks Rd and continue as per directions on POI 10.

The drive wasn’t all that special, but hiking up the mountain was awesome, and the view from the top was breathtaking! Dog-friendly (on leash), kid-friendly. Even wit a stark elevation, our 3-year old was able to do it. Highly recommend!
