Great trail that changes all the time. Sometimes you’re in a wooded area, sometimes along a creek or the dam, others along the ridge and canyon side. Not too difficult. Had a great time! We started on Bluff Trail #51 went down Sabino Lake Trail #30 and around to Sabino Dam Trail #33 to Creek Trail #52. Great time!

Beautiful, well-maintained trail! Wear sunscreen and bring a hat :)

Nice, sunny, beautiful trail filled with wildflowers and a gorgeous waterfall and river mid-March. Highly recommend. It’s a nice, leisurely, scenic walk with some fun minimal, easy, rocky incline hiking at a few spots. Clear blue skies across the mountains and saguaros.

At creek crossings (Feb 24), water was almost knee deep in places (recent rains and snow melt), so be willing to get wet during certain times of year. Hiked this during dusk, ending in dark (flashlight in use second half). Next time will hike earlier in the day, and will take the side trail along the dirt road at the beginning and instead of ending along Sabino tram road, will cross the road and continue along Esperero trail to make those sections a bit more interesting. Very short, quick and easy (if experienced) trail, with many beautiful sections, especially with the running water. The app map helps to keep on trail as some might have trouble staying on the route during some trail transitions or creek crossings.

We planned to do the Phoneline Trail. It rained most of the day before. At the entrance was a caution about flash floods. The trams were not running due to flooded bridges. We met a ranger and created a new plan. Sabino Lake Trail to Esperero Trail. Go past Rattlesnake junction a mile or so. Turn around. Go on Rattlesnake Trail to Bluff Trail to Sabino Lake Trail to the visitor center. Recording is the last part. We arrived at 9 am on Sunday and left at noon. Line of cars entering the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area when we left. The Sabino Lake trail is a nice alternative to the road. But be careful of the many cacti close to the trail. The Esperero Trail gained in elevation after the Rattlesnake trail junction. Beautiful views. The Rattlesnake trail brought us to the road and then the swollen river. We saw the dam with abundant water. The bluff trail had shade from the rock cliff. It was a nice hike.

A really fun trail. The water was high so we ended up pretty wet. definitely recommend either going in shoeless or bringing a dry pair of socks.

Great weather. Grateful for whoever stacked cairns along the rattlesnake trail because I always get a little confused keeping track of the trail when I’m jogging through there. Trails were clean, clear and dry. Creek had a good little bit of water flowing :)

Beautiful trail. Did this in the summer and almost ran out of water. Not too much shade opportunities unless you want to stop a lot. Water pools are great to get some relief. Views get better the further you go.
