HikingGreat!

Trail has splendid views and hugs the canyon providing ongoing views of the valley and mountainous range. Bring lots of water and check out the Romero pools and greenery surrounding it. Overall moderate trail and well marked pathway.

This was the best trail we have took on in Tucson. We came in from Wisconsin and had done the Bear Canyon trail to 7 falls yesterday. Even though that one is double in mileage this hike trumps that in difficulty. You’re going up virtually the whole hike meaning steep cliffs and challenging terrain. The Romero pools at the end so rewarding and fun. All I can say is start early and most importantly bring a buttload of water

Recommend starting no later then 7am. I went through 4 liters of water and ran out half way back.

My friends and I decided to do the Romero Pools yesterday. I would recommend to do this early in the morning and to bring lots of water cause there was no shade. However arriving to the destination was totally worth it. The water felt really nice and it was still running and we had a great time overall.

Not particularly challenging, I encountered a vast array of skill levels from children to elderly folks on this trail. Not easy, but doable for many. At the end you will be rewarded with a little desert oasis. Plenty of spots with running water to chill and find some privacy. I went at 7 AM on Memorial Day, and it wasn’t too busy. Will be back again!

Good amount of water at the top. Refreshing in the hot AZ air. Gets hot quick here. Start early and bring extra water. Good sturdy shoes are almost a must with rocks.

This is our favorite Tucson hike. 5.4 miles, 3 hour easy, out and back. If you make the drive to the trailhead in the early morning (we parked at 7 AM), the sun hitting the saguaro cacti is breathtaking.

Awesome hike tonight. No one of the trail. We left around 4:30, reaching the pools in just over an hour. Trail was desolate! Perfect!!!

Was heading to Romero pools but was about .8 miles short. Mostly upward, some rocky switch backs. At 1.4 from sign that stats 2.2 to pools I was out of energy to continue. It was beautiful non the less and I was quite high up.

Beautiful hike, absolutely worth the entrance fee. While the pools weren't that impressive, the views were incredible. The heat was intense, so start early!

Nice hike tonight with only a few people on the trail. We meet three backpackers climbing and a lady and two guys as we descended. So much better than hiking on weekends if trying to avoid the crowds during the virus. Weather was cooler today. Took about 1:04 to reach the pools and about the same as the sun was setting heading back down. Perfect conditions. No snakes or wildlife. I would recommend hiking early or late to avoid the mid day heat.

This hike definitely kicks your butt. The incline of the last 2 miles before you get to the pools elevates the whole time. I definitely recommend lots of water as I hiked mid morning and there was no shade. The pools at the end was the best reward.
