Rock Peak Wash to San Tan to Rock Peak Loop is a 12.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Chandler Heights, Arizona that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round.
Meh. It’s a sand trap and the fees are very expensive for day use.
The first part of the hike is through the wash, so it’s a bit tough walking in the deep sand. Once you get to San Tan, it’s easy with amazing views. I went counter-clockwise although most people I came across were going the opposite direction. Can’t see how one way is any better than the other; although, next time I’ll try it clockwise to compare. This is my new favorite hike since the mileage makes up for the easy hike.
