First 40% is a good walking or jogging path then becomes a great hike for the remainder of the time with more elevation. Lots of good spots to take a break and look at the views.

The first mile to the National trail is pretty boring but it gets exciting after that. If you hike in the morning start before dawn as the sunrise views are spectacular. The separation from the Ridgeline trail is tricky as it takes you off trail through a area closed zone.

The signs are a little confusing but people are very helpful guides

False advertising. The depicted trail doesn't even touch National trail and only briefly followed Ridgeline. Trying to follow this trail ruined my hike as I had to stop it early in order to keep myself and my dog safe on a hot day I did not know what to expect when we ended up on the actual Ridgeline trail and we were off the depicted trail for the second time already. The trails in the area were poorly marked if marked at all, especially at intersections. Do not recommend this trail.

Absolutely amazing hike in which I should’ve started earlier. I didn’t realize the up-and-down but it was amazing and great views and wonderful wildlife. Highly recommend

Nice trail. South mountain has so many great trails. Liked this one, was more on the easy side than moderate.

This trail is beautiful, but, just as you think you’ve gone over the last up...there’s more. But overall it was a beautiful and nice trail. Took me about 2 hours with some stop along the way. Love a good south mountain hike

Nice trail and good scenery. A lot of people but it didn’t seem crowded. I was glad that there weren’t as many bikes as I expected. We went the wrong way at some point but did get back on track with no problem

Great hike with great views at sunset/twilight. If doing at sunset plan ahead for ridgeline portion of hike to be up and down. Good entertainment for a hiking pup. The ridgeline to National seemed to be the more popular route.

Nice hike especially along the ridge trail and a little bit of cardio getting up to it. Did it counter clockwise to hit the step section going up.

Good trail. It's not difficult. There are some parts that will get your heart rate up, but it's pretty easy for the most part.

Great first (of many)! I underestimated this trail. The first half is lean, but the second half is mean!

Start right and make sure you finish in the flat. That way you will really enjoy it. A very good sunset hike
