Did this trail for the first time. It is a fun little trail, not very difficult and fairly short. The main trail is rocky and winding, probably don't even need 4WD. Make sure to check out the Reymert historical site and the Sugar Shack. Now if you want to make it more interesting, there are some moderate challenges to be had. Continue on N Reymert Rd past the historical site, where the difficulty level goes up few notches, and end up at a dead end, beyond where is the actual Reymert strip mine. There are also a few optional paths on the main trail that offer a bit of a challenge. If you just want to explore, there are some trails that branch off near the Sugar Shack.
Super fun trails. Rocky, hills, fast, technical...has it all. Had a little mishap and the end of the run.
Amazing off-road for all type vehicle. We decided to drive deeper and deeper until my 2003 Ford Expedition stock clearance stuck on a rock. We spend the night out there and first thing in the morning a friend came with her Ram 2500 yo help us out. Great adventure! Getting into something we doesn’t expect!
This was really fun. I don’t know how a stock SUV could make this...I really think you need a slightly modified SUV w/4x4 to do this safely. Larger trucks should expect some scratches from trees. Our Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon did this with ease, but we did need the 4x4 for some parts closer to the mine. We also needed to get out once to choose the right line. Overall, we were very pleased with the site and the cows!
Great and quick drive. There’s some hard levels for the equipped 4x4 but nothing a stock can’t do.
Nice short drive from Phx. Easy, not very technical, a little narrow in some spots.
A fun way to spend an afternoon. Most parts of the trail are pretty easy, with a few obstacles here and there. The road splits a few times and comes back together, so you can choose your own adventure for parts of it. There are a few areas you can get out and explore (the Sugar Shack and the old Reymert Mine) and wildlife throughout (cows, roadrunners, lizards, etc.) Our 2017 JKU Wrangler Rubicon with a 2.5" lift with 35" tires made easy work of this trail.
