A gorgeous tree canopy covered hike along Red Creek, ending at the Red Creek Rapids at the Verde River. This hike loosely follows a Jeep trail from FR18 through to the Red Creek Rapids. The actual hiking trail is best done by following the creek, with the majority of the hike being under Trees and with the creek running. The terrain is almost flat, but it is very rocky and with the creek running most of the way, it can get wet. You are rewarded at the end of the hike with the Verde River and the Red Creek Rapids.

This is quite a difficult hike to get to, the Forest Roads are not well maintained and you will need a high Clearance vehicle to get there. However, the hike itself is spectacular, following Red Creek through a tree canopy covered running creek for the majority of the hike. Although the creek is relatively flat, the terrain can change and is mostly rocky with some sandy areas. The Red Creek rapids on the Verde river are well worth the journey and is a welcome cool swimming place.
Be aware that this is also a mrked Jeep Trail, so watch out for the occassional 4 wheel drive vehicle.
