I noticed some of the entrance gates were closed, which caused initial difficulty. You may need to drive a mile or two down until you find another parking lot with proper trailheads. Otherwise, this trail is very easy and I would consider it a nice extended “nature walk”. Wide, flat pathways and occasional paving. Not much shade. There was plenty of vegetation and signs to read for your enjoyment! Saw a couple rabbits and lizards as well! I would definitely come back to bike this trail or run with a dog. If you’re looking for a scenic trail with nice views though, this isn’t the one.

Wide and flat trail. More of a walk than a hike. Did enjoy seeing a rattlesnake at one point though.

Nice and easy walk. Great spot for banded geckos! I also saw two snakes, a thread snake and a desert night snake. Lots of desert activity very close to the valley. Highly recommended for those looking for reptiles, birds and more. Even saw an owl.

Great easy trail nearby. Plenty of desert trees and plants/shrubs. Really enjoyed the frog pond. I even got a recording of howling coyotes nearby. If you have kids and/or need a nice outdoor walk without having to going far this is it. Mostly paved. It can get muddy after heavy rain but to be expected anywhere anyway.

Reach 11 Sports complex was closed, and that’s the entrance to this trail. So I went down to Reach 11 Rec Area and parked there and met up with the trail. It was flat and sandy and there was nobody else there. Lots of bugs and lizards- no rattlers

Trail was cool. Not much of a hike, more of a walk but still nice. My dogs loved it.

Pretty much a flat dirt/gravel trail. Easy to walk, jog, run, hybrid cycle, or beginner mountain bike. There are no hilly areas so an experienced mountain biker might get bored. Peaceful walk with bushes and desert flower to enhance the peaceful atmosphere. Was not sure how far the trail went, so i only walked 2.5 mi out. Did not realize there was a small loop coming up or I would have continued. I usually hike hills but this was a good pretty straight soft path that my feet and knees appreciated. Would definitely go back to get my 14000+ steps in!

Its a walk trail across almost flat landscape surrounded by greenery. You can easily jog or take cycling. It is not much trafficked, must do trail if you looking for flat trail. Its nearly 6.5miles to and fro, you have to walk back in the same way as its not a loop. I am giving a 4star as the walking path had animal poop every now & then and there is no place to sit of you are tired while on the way. Note: carry a bottle of water and you are good to go.

This trail is perfect for beginning mountain bikers, of all ages.

I do long runs here and it’s usually great. The trail can get muddy, and because people and horses don’t stay off the trail when it’s wet, you have to really watch your step once the mud dries. But for the most part it’s a convenient and pretty escape from running on the street.

When I want something that is close to home but feels a little bit removed from the noise of the community, this is a great place to walk and release some energy while collecting my thoughts!

Flat trail, great for trail running, beginning biking or walking. Not challenging so don't expect any uphill hiking. I would consider this an off road trail walk. The dogs love it, close to home for winter weather outings. This trail also connects to the horse trail that runs all the way to the Veterans Cemetery off of Cave Creek rd. So if you want a challenge you could hike to the cemetery and back. Probably about 10 miles round-trip.

Easy hike and a great introduction to desert terrain right in the midst of city life. We saw 2 coyotes at dusk and decided to head for the car. Paved walkway and signage describes plants and animals you might glimpse, including coyotes!

Great little trail! if you stay on the paved path, it only takes about 30 mins to take a loop, but there's tons of little side paths you can explore. Lots of lottle hidden gems back there, we took some very pretty pics!
