This was marked as difficult/hard - not so. Trails are mostly smooth and quite easy.

Maybe because of the many wildflowers that were blooming on the Rainbow Valley trail, I really enjoyed this hike on Sunday. The hills were green and it was fairly quiet- after the Dyson trail cutoff, no other people around. We saw a beautiful coyote which was a highlight for me , along with many birds. This trail is actually easy and well marked with little serious elevation gain. The workers at the visitor center were very nice and helpful and it’s worth stopping in for a map.

Not my favorite trail, personally prefer going to the white tanks and hiking around. Would be better for cycling.

Nice picturesque trail! Not too difficult and very quiet during the week. I think I saw maybe 5 people total. Google Maps would not take me the right way to the trailhead through AllTrails, it was taking me down a private road that said “No trespassing” to get to the trailhead. You’ll have more success just entering Estrella Mountain Regional Park into your GPS, as that will take you to the park gate.

It’s a very long trail. As expected. I’ve never hiked estrella mountain trails. Most places I hike have always had Ramada’s or some type of shade on the way along with water fountains, especially on the longer trails. This trail did not. Make sure you go early in the morning or late evening and bring lots of water.

Went to Estrella Mountain Park today. Never been there! Was out in Goodyear, so swung by the park to check out the trails. I was hoping for some elevation but all I found was those lower trails Rainbow Valley, Toothaker, Baseline, and Horseshoe. Oh well, managed to do 5 miles anyway, just hiking up and down through the desert on my self-made loop. Well worth going back for more

pleasant hike...

Great jogging trail. It is more of a back and side mountain trail. If you're looking for views, add Baseline trail to the end.

I found this loop to be a bit challenging. I had to walk my bike a few times over some steep rocky climbs. I ride a decent amount so would not recommend this for a beginner or if your cardio is lagging. Plenty of tough little climbs along the way. $7 per car and gate closes at 8 PM.

For mtbing I rate this 5 stars, but for hiking it is probably 4 stars because it doesn't have high enough elevation to get the really good views that other places do. Other reviews mention 6 dollars for parking, but it is 7 dollars. The weather was nice and there were purple and yellow flowers in bloom. The trail had a good amount of variety, but you'll have to watch out for horse droppings. You can see the ending portion of Rainbow Valley where it meets up with Toothaker at the following url: https://youtu.be/BnM7fuc-fcY

Beautiful trail to really help one appreciate what Arizona has to offer. Challenging enough to keep it interesting, without any real risk of injury. It's closer to 8 miles, so don't head out to late in the day, and make sure to bring a map. There's a couple spots where one can feel turned around.

I love this trail. The melodic rise and fall of the terrain create a scenic and mild to moderately challenging hike. The sweeping vistas are little gems tucked around the next corner. This is one of my favorites as it is a long hike but it doesn’t wipe out a beginner if you invite someone new to hiking. Enjoy

Be on the lookout for horse droppings! Nice trail wide and smooth enough in most portions to run if you’d like.

It says it's a 6.6 mile hike when in turn it was 8 miles. If you are looking for something serene and peaceful I wouldn't bother as you could hear the traffic from Estella Parkway.
