Great and varied views. One of the best I've done in Phoenix.

Steep toward the conjunction where trails meet, but a great leg workout!

Beautiful hike with great scenery, especially all the cacti varieties. Those sites that describe this trail as easy and handicap accessible are full of crap.

This trail may be “moderate” in the context of experienced hikers, but for the novice it’s at least difficult.

I’ve hiked it or part of it on 3 out of 5 days and found it wonderful, but quite a workout. I made the mistake of only taking 30 ounces of water today when I started later around 10:00 AM and got a bit lightheaded at one point.

The trails off of 8A, i.e., 8B, 202, are less crowded and later in morning, early afternoon when too damn hot there are also less hikers. Fairly crowded in early morning.

Very enjoyable morning walk! Not too strenuous and actually leaves you feeling fresh and ready for the day... my dog loves it and the trail is very well taken care of!

This is the perfect early morning trail for my dog and me. Pretty busy on the weekends though. It’s not difficult, but you definitely feel like you get a good workout in if you keep a good pace.

Moderate level trail. Nice hike. Few parking spots so arrive early.

It’s a high trafficked Trail. I took my dog, and she loved it. It’s great for families, as well. VERY HARD TO FIND PARKING. You have to have good luck from the parking Gods to get in that tiny lot.

Good hike. Gets more interesting once you get further into. Probably shouldn’t say this but once you get to the saddle high point there is an unofficial trail south up to the top of the ridge for some great views.

Nice area especially once you start heading up. I’m new to the area, wish I could have figured out a loop to go back a different way. I’m sure there are several.

Great moderate hike. Don't leave anything in your car. Two cars had windows broken and purses stolen.

Really nice trail for a short and sweet hike within the city. Nice little baby inclines to get the heart pumping but not very challenging all together. Pretty typical desert views—lots of cholla and saguaro. Intersects with the Ruth Hamilton if you want to push a bit further .

A great moderate hike. Can be crowded at times but usually not an issue Nice gradual change from a flatter, wide trail down low to a narrow and steeper terrain higher . Love this hike Only negative is parking

Decent physical hike, relatively boring landscape compared to other Scottsdale hikes though. Definitely better looking hikes around

In regard to the post from Clare - Im just curious if you have ever seen someone towed... I am a local who has been parking in that shopping plaza for years and have never personally had an issue nor have I known anyone who has been towed from there. I acknowledge there is a sign but from my experience if you aren't a jerk and park in an "incognito" spot there is no issue.

I would agree probably not incredibly smart to park in a spot that is labeled "15 minute pick up".

FYI - DO NOT PARK IN THE SHOPPING PLAZA BESIDE THE CAR PARK. Cars are towed from there and there is a sign saying no hiker parking.

An enjoyable trail in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Parking is awful at all times but additional parking can be found across the street in the shopping plaza.

I really enjoyed this trail for what it was. Expect fairly high traffic but the trial itself is wide and well maintained. The first half includes very mild elevation gain into easy switchbacks to the top of the ridge.

*Special note - the second half of the trail is unfortunately disappointing as it meanders down into a small creek and abruptly stops. I recommend picking up trial 8B at the top of the ridge. You will follow it to a higher point where you get a great vista on Piestawa Peak and then drop down. You can then use the Mojave connector (202) to cross back over the ridge and return to your original starting point.

Love Quartz Ridge, and you can vary it up by starting at Squaw Peak northernmost trailhead, 32nd and Lincoln, or 40th St trailheads.

Nice, quick hike that is located in the middle of the city and way less crowded than Camelback. The hike took me a little less than an hour to complete 8A but I did run parts of it.

Pretty flat, but great for a nice run. Beautiful views and not to steep.
