Very nice trail. One of the more “livelier” trails I’ve been on. Saw tons of birds (including roadrunners and hummingbirds,) butterflies, and mountain flowers.

I would say 75% of the time you can walk shoulder to shoulder with someone which is a nice change when comparing this to other trails. Nice incline towards the middle of hike, definitely earned its “moderate” rating.

Nice trail with some really nice views. Good trail for kids I had 7year old with me and he did great. keep an eye on the map as trail is not really marked as Prospectors Point anywhere but at top. but is definatly navigable. Travel safe.

A nice trail with some good incline at the midpoint of the loop. Decent amount of people but not to the point of crowded.

Love this trail! Definitely recommend downloading the map and following it, as there are multiple points where other trails cross and it can be a little confusing. Beautiful views of the superstitions, and a good work out. Takes me about an hour and a half. Gorgeous views the entire time.

I’d like to go out and try this one again when it’s not a high of 107. Warning to other future hikers on this trail, the majority of the trail is actually marked as the Crosscut Trail, NOT Prospectors View (hence 4/5 stars, it was a bit hard to follow). This trail starts outside of the Lost Dutchman state park, does a loop through the state park, and takes you back out. It was truly beautiful and scenic, I’d say easy-moderate. We saw a regal horned lizard on the trail which was really neat and somehow a first for me (a life long Phoenix resident who has done a considerable amount of hiking in the city). Can’t wait to get back out on this trail!

Nice hike by the Superstitions. Enough of a challenge in 90 degrees weather. A couple of tricky spots crossing other trails so keep an eye on your map.

Great trail for photos of the Superstition Mountains. Me and my parents in their 50's who don't hike at all easily completed this in 90 degree heat.

camped at Lost Dutchman and walked to the trailhead to start this hike. I think it's easy with beautiful views of the valley. You don't go really into the rocks/main mountain with this hike.

Great trail, took about an hour and a half with 2 dogs, a 7yr old and multiple water breaks. Not as crowded before 9am, but the parking lot was almost full at 10:30 when we got back.

The trails on superstition can be
a bit confusing. Take Jacob's crosscut up treasure loop and behind the giant bench is the prospector's view trail to the base of the mountain. Recording our hike on AllTrails helped tremendously to keep us on track. Spectacular views!! Great cardio workout!!

Really liked this hike. Pretty and peaceful and easier than expected - probably due to trail condition - really well taken care of with no real obstacles. We started on Jacob's Crosscut which was very easy. Climb doesn't pick up until actually on Prospectors View Trail. There's a nice bench at the top with a really pretty view. The descent was a little rockier than the rest of the trail. Also saw some wildlife - deer and jackrabbits.
