We got a bit lost so weren’t prepared for the extra 2 miles; however, loved the easy up and downs. Bring lots of water and adjust arrival time for ridiculous AM parking.

This is a great trail for someone who is not a hiker all the time. We did this trail based off of recommendation a few months ago and it was my first time to South Mountain. Has great views of the city but very heavily trafficked so he prepared for that. Especially on the Pima wash side. Still a very do-able trail and always enjoyable!

I’d recommend this trail, fairly easy besides finding the trail near the hidden valley portion. Bring lots of water and go early, i started at 5:50 am and it was pretty hot towards the end.

Great trail for rock formations and caves. Just the right amount of distance and incline.

Pretty easy trail, just long! Go early because it does get very busy with both hikers and mountain bikers, but everyone is very friendly and the scenery is beautiful.

Fun hike with great views, hidden valley loop at the end has some spots where you have to work your way up some rocks, and the "fat man pass" that is only about 18 inches wide. Easy to avoid this section with a shortcut if any of that is a problem.

Further you get back the tighter the spaces are. Plenty of lizards/bees to keep you company. Recommend extra water and a way to create shade out of minimal supplies. Average sized male with heavy gear (50+lbs) used 3.0liters of water total trip.

First time ever hiking in Phoenix. This trail did not disappoint. It was challenging and long (2hrs) for the 7mi round trip. Beautiful desert settings and great pictures. A lot of people is the only drawback. Be prepared to have strong ankles and plenty of water.
