Suggest bringing lots of water aince there isn’t too much shade on the trail.

Nice hiking area a lot of flexibility. The main trail (Peavine) is a pretty flat dirt road. I was there to train for a big hike next Saturday. For more challenges take a look at some of the trails that shoot off of it.

Peavine is an easy trail fir all experience levels. There are plenty of people using this trail for hiking jogging and biking. But it never feels crowded

Easy trail with some rockier loops as options. Parking by the dump of old tires is not romantic, but within minutes the Raparian (streamside) conservation efforts pay off and it feels like another world. From there it’s a brisk walk to the edge of Watson Lake and the dells, which is always impressive. Haven’t been far along this yet - I turned around after a mile and a half to make sure I got back, but hoping to do the whole stretch in a month or two.

Beautiful scenery and mostly gravel surface. We went out mountain biking with our little ones. The trail was long. It not technically difficult. Beautiful scenery along Watson lake. Highly recommend.

Biked the whole thing on 1/3/20. Would highly recommend! Awesome way to be amongst the rock formations of the lake and view the mountains without and major hills.

HikingGreat!

Went the entire 12.4 miles today. Weather was perfect and trail is very nice. Scenery is wonderful. Highly recommend you go from start to the end on the other side of Hwy 89A and back. Very nice treat at the very end and then you can turn around and come back. Trail is wide making it nice for people passing you and avoiding bikes as there is lots of room for everyone. Pretty open, very little shade so now is the time to go. Once it’s hot, this would not be a trail to do.

Mountain biking

The main trail is flat and smooth. Mostly for casual bike riding, walking and running. The couple of spur trails I took were for hiking. I’m an intermediate rider and can handle pretty tough trails in Durango, CO where I’m from. I had to hike most of the spur trails.

WalkingGreat!

Started walking the trail from the North parking lot by Granite Dells Storage and 89A. It is a nice flat trail and more people on bikes than walking. once you pass the new homes it opens up to some scenic views of the Dells. First time starting this trail from the 89A so next time I would start it deeper in maybe from the Iron King. Weather was perfect and we had our Labrador with us on the leash and she did great. walked about 4 miles of the trail. would highly recommend this trail!
