Great hike but it wasn’t as long as I expected. The climb at the end isn’t a clear trail and I couldn’t figure out how to get to the end shown on the app. But really loved the workout.

nice early in the morning by 6 the parking lot was crowded. Great area to explore! Lots to climb up, or stay on the flats with great views!

Went on a solo hike here last week. It was the best five hours. At the entrance of the park there are palm trees , cranes and a small pond for fishing. the park is along the bike path and a river. The hole in the rock is the beginning of the trails and a unique view of the area. As you venture out and climb up the rocky hills the views are just breathtaking- miles of dessert rocks and blooming cactus , humming birds, rabbits ,lizards & Arizona pocket mice. Truly peaceful.

I kind of made my own loop from Papago butte, to hole in the rock, to Hunts tomb, to the Phx. zoo, and back!!!

Awesome trails back here, can loop around all day. Very loose gravel in most spots, but good small climbs and some very small downhills. Just fun to play around and can make it more or less difficult whichever you prefer.

Warning: if you hike up and sit on rocks be careful getting up. Leggings will rip easily if you’re not careful!

Great for trail running. Lots of diff paths so you can really just pick whatever way you wanna go! The rocks are so pretty and if you elect to climb up to the large rocks, you can get a stellar view of the city/park. It’s less of a hike and more of a trail running place, but those short climbs up to the rocks are steep, making for a good workout!

Great family trail, more an easy-moderate hike. Mainly rated due to some steep slippery sections due to loose gravel/sand.

Trail not clearly marked. You're mostly stuck between the road and golf course. I lost count of how many bags of dog poop were on the side. (if you're going to be rude and leave your dogs excrements on the trail, why do you need to also contribute to plastic waste/pollution?).

Decent for a family hike. Had a 7, 5, and 3 year old with me, and they enjoyed it. The section at the buttes is a little steep...I didn't have to scramble but my little ones did.

Visitor from Colorado, prepared for the worst(rattle snakes etc) but just a dirt road and didn't have to worry about it. EXTREMELY hot that day, and I was having a hard time climbing up the hill. Although, enjoyed the view, took little break in shade and ran back to the trailhead. There was no shades until I got to the top. Such a short hike/run but water is needed!

Nice short trail, I think it only took a little over an hour even after stopping to enjoy the scenery and to catch my breath a few times. It’s easy until you get to the rocks and then it becomes moderate. The views were pretty ok once you get some elevation. It’s only ten minutes from my place so it was worth the trip for me.
