Trail head is off of the Brown Canyon Ranch trail. This trail is very steep but well worth the hike. Lots of old mining equipment all over.

Trail starts off pretty easy in brown canyon ranch. Once you get to the actual pamona mine trail it’s hard the rest of the way. Nothing but uphill the entire time. Take a set of tracking poles and it will make life a lot easier going up and down. Lots of loose rocks. Once we got to the fork at the end of the trail we turned around and came back. Everything past the fork up top is really overgrown. Take lots of water. I went through a whole camelback before making back down to the bottom. Took several breaks to rest hydrate and enjoy the view.
