This trail is well maintained, but heavily trafficked by mountain bikers. We almost had some accidents around pretty sharp bends and not knowing a bike was coming. As an intermediate hiker I️ would rate this as easy to moderate. The 5 miles we did between Overton and the Gold Mine Trail were more enjoyable than anything. Beautiful views as you come to the Go John intersection (working clockwise from the Overton Trailhead).

Loop trail with some steady inclines but nothing steep. Hardly any shade so watch your timing with the sun on hot days and bring plenty of water.

Neat little loop, definitely on the easy end of "moderate"

If you want a good workout I would go right at the T. We took.a left and it is a beautiful hike and it wasn't too busy, but a lot of horses.

This was a very good hike and it had been awhile - so it's a great way to get back into the swing. Good elevations and decent trails. Very nice views of AZ desert too!

Overton was a very gradually graded hike - great morning and good views of the landscape!

Beautiful Hike! The trail was well maintained with light traffic. There were a few groups of horses/trail riders and only one mountain biker, mostly friendly hikers!I will be looking to purchase a pass so I can check out the rest of the trails in the area.

Fun hike. Took the baby on our Kelty-Pak. A little strenuous on the switchbacks, but very doable. Bring water. We did 2.5 liters.

The Good: Nice hike, good distance for a 1 to 1.5 hour trip depending on your speed. Gradual incline along the first half either clockwise or counterclockwise and it was well marked. Views were nice along the way, but nothing breathtaking.

The Bad:
There are lots of guided horseback rides on this trail and a fair bit of horse poo.
We were hiking over a holiday week but in the middle of the day on A Monday it was pretty busy.
$6 park entrance fee per car or $2/person on bike, foot or horse.

Ok trail, well marked $6 to get in, horse poo all over watch your step! Relatively busy if you're looking for a secluded trail, this isn't it. Family friendly loop with mild elevation gain.
