Trail begins at the end of Cave Canyon Road (FR771). It follows an old road for half a mile then begins it ascent up Oversite Canyon 3 miles to Crest trail 103. A level half mile brings you to Bear saddle where the trail turns to the west and heads back down Ida Canyon for 3 miles ending back at the parking area on Cave Canyon road.
