My husband and I stayed at the 85 Sunset Lane Airbnb and walked this loop to the Ridge. It was a short hike but offers incredible views of Cathedral Rock and the Oak Creek Valley area. We took our dog, and she did fine. Later in the day we travelled this again all the way to the rim of Cathedral Rock by way of Templeton and around to the other side (definitely recommend that!). This hike is a wonderful teaser! Would be beautiful sunrise spot too.

Great trail. Agree with some other reviewers it was on the easy side of moderate. Easy to park and pretty empty. Walked past some neighborhoods but didn’t really detract

Nice scenic route, one of the best marked trails I’ve been on. I would rank it as easy, though, as it really isn’t strenuous at any point. I suppose 6 miles might be long for some and that’s why it is ranked as moderate. Overall a really nice trail and not trafficked out AT ALL!

This trail offers spectacular views of Carol Canyon, Cathedral Rock and Crescent Moon. Witnessed a large Great Horned Owl in flight about midway down the trail and early in the morning. There are beautiful species of ocotillo, manzanita and other desert plant life. Also affords views of dramatic changes in rock formations. This is my favorite local trail in the west end of Sedona! Mats, Deer Fly and Mosquitoes can be an issue so be sure to cover with bug spray.

A well marked trail with scenic views. Only downside is the trail running along a neighborhood for about a 1/4 mile.

We liked this hike. The trail begins and ends with really impressive views. The mid-section has some moderate climbs that we enjoyed for the workout. The scenery mid-section in November wasn’t too interesting. It was convenient to be so close to town but you do stay close to homes at various intervals during the hike. We missed the final trail leg back to the car instead hiking to the Ridge trail head then taking the road back to the car. The app helped us figure out where we were at but we neglected to consult it during the hike.

This is an easy to moderate hike that kept our interest with changing scenery and views throughout. Note that you will cross dirt roads twice. Once near the last section of Ridge Trail and again during Ramshead Trail.
