Awesome trail! Got a good workout in. Only did half of it but plan to return earlier in the morning to do the entire thing!

Definitely a great incline workout! Beautiful sunrise hike...saw a coyote, nice size jack rabbit, gopher, lizards, birds chirping and the cicadas were loud! No snakes today! 6-28-19

Beautiful, peaceful hike. Only saw two other hikers the entire time...one on the way up, and one on the way down. Started just after 8am, but would definitely suggest starting an hour or two earlier, as it heats up quickly during the summer. The first mile or so is a piece of cake, but it definitely gets more difficult as you go up. Slather on the sunscreen and bring enough water...went through all 100oz of mine.

A nice, easy hike with a little elevation gain. Saw two rattlesnakes on the trail so be wary of the wildlife. The heat is killer so I’d try to start by 8am if possible.

Great climb. Sad that it’s starting to heat up. Not too many weeks left before summer.

Went out this past weekend and tried this for the first time. Started around 9am which was a little brisk but, earnestly it felt perfect once I started on the incline. Took just under 3 hours to loop for me, I would label it as intermediate/moderate as it’s only level of difficulty is roughly 30-40 mins of initial ascent when taking the eastern side of the loop up. The rest is a tame mix of flat to downhill terrain, with only slight inclines in the form of switchbacks to take you back to the start. Bring plenty of water in the summer as I went through most of my 3L in February.

Kinda boring half mile at the at the start until you get to the base of the climb. Decent hike up then you go down a bit to a valley of sorts. Pretty nifty as it feels a bit hidden. Then you climb back up a bit until you reach a paved road that connects to a little area where you can see the view of South Phoenix from the top. Nice visuals of the city especially at sunset when I got there. Then from there you loop back down the other way towards the trail head. Not that difficult in technical difficulty (all inclines and declines are very doable for most anyone), but some parts of the paths have rocky, loose ground, so watch your footing. The difficulty of the trail is in the length, but very doable if you take your time or in good shape. Good hike for scenery and exercise.

Awesome views at the top of the mountain. Not very crowded, street parking right in front of trail head.

Should be rated difficult, in my opinion, as the Old Man trail is fairly steep.
