Oak Creek Trail is a 1.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Sedona, Arizona that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Short and sweet hike without having to cross the creek. Red Rock Crossing, or Budha Beach as it is also called, is accessible from Crescent Moon Ranch. Very easy hike, with beautiful views of Cathedral Rock. Park opens at 8am.

Drive west from Sedona on US 89A. Just outside town, turn south on FR 216 (Upper Red Rock Loop Road). Drive about 1.5 miles and follow the signs to Red Rock Crossing. All roads except the short segment leading from Red Rock Crossing Road to the picnic area are paved.

January 21, 2021Nice and easy trail that my dogs enjoyed as well. Beautiful landscape and sounds from the creek. I took and veered off trail quite a bit to take other views in.

November 17, 2020The directions on alltrails took us to a parking lot up the road from the trailhead. Upon walking down the road toward the tail on our gps, we quickly saw a no trespassing sign. We never made it to the actual trail, but did walk the river. Cold air was radiating around the trail. Gorgeous hike for a hot afternoon, but VERY confusing trail access and zero markers.

River levels permitting, I recommend you start at Crescent Moon Picnic Site, hike east as marked by AllTrails, cross and Buddha Beach Red Rock Crossing Vortex and hike back west on the south side of Oak Creek via the Baldwin Trail for the best views of Cathedral Rock, then cross again at the Crescent Moon Picnic Site to return to the parking lot.
