Beautiful views of Cathedral Rock along Oak Creek. Easy trail along the river. No bridge to cross over to connect to Cat Rock Trail. Plan on getting wet if your continuing.

Great for kids, lots of shade and swimming stops, stunning beauty. The vortex is across the creek at Buddha beach up on the big boulder.

HikingGreat!

Such a beautiful walk, but be sure to get there by 7:30am (gate opens at 8am) to avoid crowds and to get a parking spot. Also, it costs $11 to get in - America The Beautiful Passes (National Park Passes) do not work here. Also, starting 8/5/2020 there is no swimming allowed due to contaminated water. Went 8/8/2020 and it was still closed for swimming. Hiking and eating area still open.

I hiked this trail by accident, meaning to hike templeton trail to oak creek. But I found a different way to the creek instead, after getting turned around, by cathedral rock trail, in the other direction. Part of the problem was my phone overheated, and the AllTrails app repeatedly cut out, in the sun. Will leave by crescent moon picnic area. We all had fun playing at several different places in the creek, on the way out.

Nice hike by the creek. Pretty trees. Nice water for cooling off in. Good views of side of cathedral rocks. Short, flat, good for everyone and dogs too.

Lovely trail, not too strenuous. Lots of loose rocks, so be aware when hiking. Note: the trail head of Red Rock Loop (not the one by the school) is not accessible for low rise vehicles. You definitely need a high rise. We had a Subaru and it bottomed out, but we didn't even go to the trail head. We parked on the road.

Short, convenient hike. Great if you are crunched for time or not looking for anything hard. Here are some things all trails fails to mention: 1. $11 entry fee 2. No trail markers. I mean none. As an avid hiker from Colorado this frustrates the heck of out me. 3. Mud mud mud. 4. No trail maintenance. I never knew if I was on it. 5. There are outhouses but bring your own hand sanitizer.

This one is fine if you want to take a break from real hiking. Very easy trail along the water, nice views. Probably best at dawn/dusk, not sure if open though.

Beautiful area but the trail isn’t marked at all. We, and other groups were looking for the area where cathedral rock reflects in the water, especially at sunset. By the time we found the area, it was too late and too dark. Still a wonderful and easy trail for a walk In the woods. Next time, we’ll know.

The trail itself is short and nice that it roughly follows the creek but I think the creek at the start of the trail is the nicest part (although more people than at the end of the trail). In parts it isn’t obvious where the trail is. We did the trail then came back and spent a whole near the creek at the beginning which is lovely.
