Mule Deer Trail is a 3.4 mile out and back trail located near Waddell, Arizona that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and trail running and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

From central Phoenix, take I -10 west 18 miles to Hwy 303. North on Hwy 303 to Olive. West 4 miles on Olive to the White Tank Mountain Regional Park entrance.

A very good beginning hike. Able to see lots of lizards and jack rabbits.

Nice hike to take first time hikers and dogs on. It's not crowded and very pretty with little elevation gain. It can be done one way if you put a second car at the campground.

Lots of birds tending to the many wildflowers in bloom on the cacti. A very nice overlook on a field of Sagauro s early in the hike is the highlight.
