Much of Jim Thompson is more rocky (large loose stones) than other trails. Best views are the first half of the trail. Second half is less interesting, plus there are some unfortunate telephone lines in view. Wilson Canyon is a walk in the woods with no payoff at the end. Elsewhere, this hike may have been 4 stars, but for Sedona there are better easy/moderate hikes.

Glad to have hard soles with good grip because of the rocks. Very pretty today NO ONE but us and we started at 9:00 AM. Road in is a little rough, had a SUV but worried about our wine bottles breaking in the cargo!!

Fun easy trail, the power line placement is unfortunate, but still good views. Lots of off trail and climbing spots.

Amazing views!!! Great trail, many shaded spots and some stretches of sun. For a regular hiker this trail is easy. For someone that does not hike often it may be considered more of a moderate trail with some of the inclines. I saw few people on the trail. I went at 11 am on Saturday and the parking lot was full. It’s worth the hike!

RunningFeeGreat!

I came here to run on a Monday morning around 9AM, 3 cars in the parking lot when I arrived. Trail wasn’t super interesting but there were some views (with some landlines in the way too). Didn’t see any people, exposed in the sun, should be rated moderate in my opinion because it wasn’t flat. When I got back to my car at around 11AM, the parking lot was 2/3 full.

Rocky quiet trail. Did the Jim Thompson Trail plus the Bridle Trail. Skip the Bridle Trail, it's boring and goes straight through private property. I didn't finish the Bridle portion because I didn't want to walk in people's back yards. You can go further when you finish Jim T, it connects with the Wilson Mountain Trail.

Absolutely wonderful, I've done so many trails over the past six years my adventures are starting to blend together but this one is definitely in my top ever favorites. It was nice to feel so much excitement again haha, something different. Saw few people, easy but still enjoyable and fun, and words can't describe the sights. We continued left at the end of this trail and went down the canyon, and it was definitely worth it. Be just slightly adventurous and you'll find a path to a nice view and place to sit... With that extra bit it was 7.4 miles, if stopping as this is recorded it was around 6 miles.
