There are many crisscrossing paths on the back half of the trail. I hiked this trail backwards and ended up in several wrong spurs

Easy walk for anyone. The trail is partially paved and then switches to dirt and sand. Lots of Manzanita and pine. Good view of the surrounding forest.

Somebody else noted that they need to update the signs. No kidding. So many are missing. If they get as many people on this little trail as they say ... something needs to be done to get the ”Interpretive” signs updated and replaced.

The trail and the views were fine! The interpretive signage and trail markings need to be updated and/or replaced.

HikingGreat!

My husband is almost 80 and needs supplemental oxygen at 7000 feet elevation. We live in TX at 900 ft. We are not used to this altitude. He was able to pull his SimplyGo oxygenator around and did fine at 80 degrees temp. The path is a loop trail that opens to the left of the parking lot and the first part is paved. There are benches on this part. At the end of the paved part you can view the Mongollan Rim and go back if you just want to see the rim. We walked it all. There is a stream that you cross several times over quaint bridges. The path is sandy and mostly smooth with many tall trees. Anyone can do this trail.
