Mint Wash passes through a mixed forest of ponderosa pine and alligator juniper as it as it travels toward Granite Basin Lake. The trail crosses a creek several times. Although the creek is usually dry, its banks are lined with dense vegetation that is nourished by occasional flows. This short trail provides access to other Granite Basin trails.

Great trail but some stretches had little shade and, while much of the trail was fairly easy there are definitely sections that can be classified as at least moderate. We went counterclockwise (opposite of the way it is presented here) so as to not have the long uphill stretch which, I think, made it better. Will do this again but on a cooler day!

Fun trail for horseback riding I would rate it moderate do to some rocky parts. Be sure to take a whiff of the "mint scent" at the creek.

The map as shown here is not the 345 trail. It's a combo of three different trails that equal to be a little over 5 miles. There's also a good 1.5 of almost straight uphill so make sure to bring plenty of water.

Decent hike, there is a $5 day use fee here. Signage not the best.

Mint Wash is one of the trails within the Granite Basin Recreation Area. It is accessible via multiple trailheads from connector trails, including the trailhead that starts in the Yavapai Campground.
