Well marked trails, neatly maintained gravel or sand. Amazing views of old growth Saguaros, chollas, fishhook barrel and other cacti. Trail travels through a small ravine where bushes and grass grow unlike the rest of the desert areas.
Easy, beautiful hike. There’s no cover so be sure to bring water and wear sunscreen.
it is an easy, mostly flat, partially paved trail in Saguaro east. But no shade. We started around noon and was hot too quickly. But the cacti around you are very nice. There are few picnic tables near parking lot at trail head, where we had lunch after the hike. Carry water and have sun protection, you will enjoy the walk.
Easy loop, partially paved. Love the desert, but a bit too much noise pollution from nearby streets and gun range for my taste.
Be sure to bring a trail map + AllTrails really help. Good look at cactus varieties.
Very nice for a short easy hike. Extensive cactus varieties and views.
Beautiful hike on a full moon. Weather was cool, with a light breeze. Easy trail, virtually never had to turn on my headlamp. I’m sure there was wildlife a plenty that I could not see, but I did spot a young bobcat. Didn’t stay long, as mama bobcat was sure to be close by. Heard lots of coyotes. Looking forward to checking out this place during daylight hours.
Nice running trail. No shade so go in the morning. Fairly sandy in the first half (I went CW) but still doable. Paved in the last ~3/4 mile
So hot and no shade! Bring lots of water and go early. It was beautiful though. This park is so cool. Must see.
