A wonderful loop, just keep in mind that the loop contains portions of 2 other trails ( Deadman's Pass, and Long Canyon) it also uses a short connector. Beautiful views, walking along the side of the mountain. On the back side just getting to the Deadman's Pass section we were relaxed with some Indian wind and flute music from across the valley.

Nice hike, not too difficult. It goes across the face and backside of Mescal. The only drawback is the last half mile. We started at on the Deadman's Pass side of the mountain, so the last part down to Long Canyon Rd was not really worth it.

Very scenic mellow mountain bike ride. For added fun, hit the Canyon of Fools trail.

This is a really nice hike. We started out early and only ran into a handful of folks, but by mid-hike the trail population was definitely growing with hikers, bikers, and trail runners. I'd say this hike is on the easy side of moderate and is definitely well marked. We did the loop counter clockwise so we started at the Mescal Trailhead, then forked right onto Long's Canyon Trail, took a left onto Deadman's Pass and then another left back on the Mescal Trail. It was especially to hike up close to the red rock. The mountain biking looked like it would be super cool, but definitely a work out.
