Turn off of Garden Canyon Road above the upper Garden Canyon Picnic Area. The turn-off is a road comprised of medium-to-large stones. In a vehicle with some ground clearance and - preferably - 4WD, you can continue up this road for basically as far as you want. About a half-mile up the trail head left and you'll see the sign for McClure Canyon nailed to a tree. When you start out, the trail is just this road, but it gets steeper, smaller, and more interesting the further you go. Typical of the Huachuca Mountains, once you get over 6500 feet or so, you'll notice the flora start to change from Arizona-esque to more piney growth. There's a cool water-way you can scramble up that would almost be a waterfall after heavy rain.

It takes a little effort to get to the more interesting part of this trail, but it's cool once you do!
