Extremely overgrown in parts right now. Still awesome just worrisome with snakes.. waterfall dry as expected. still beautiful though, and of course, less people which is always nice... looking forward to rainy season so I can drag my family out to tamer the waterfall flowing, I mean who WOULDNT want to see that in the middle of the desert!

Definitely not a loop. Could not find the turnoff. Otherwise, it was a great hike!

Super fun and hard, for a beginner hiker. We went all the way to the water fall and back. We tried finding the trail that made the hike a loop , but we didn’t succeed. The views were amazing !

Beautiful trail! I would divide it into thirds… The first third is fairly easy. The second third gets a little more difficult and the last bit is fairly steep and Rocky but the waterfall at the end is amazing! Moderate plus

Was so beautiful! I had never been on that side of the mountain, so I was just in awe of everything! The falls were amazing-the one main one had lots of water splashing over it. I enjoyed sitting at the base and having a snack while getting splashed on. Only one other person was on the trail with me. I went at 8am. And like others said-don't park in the first parking lot-keep going. You will eventually see a big sign that says Trailhead Parking or something like that. That's the parking lot.

Great trail but like all the other post it is not a looped Trail. It’s an in and out. Don’t miss the view from the ridge before going up to the falls. The falls is nice but the view is amazing .

Great trail! Could not find the loop to come back the opposite way. Go on a day after heavy rains to see waterfall. Complete hike to waterfall and back about 6.6 miles and 5 hours.

We had a great time on this trail today. The only problem was we could not find the loop to take other path on the way down.

Well marked, wonderful hike. Trail has some inclines but not anything extremely difficult. Follow the trail to the very end and you will see the waterfall. Today there was very little water, but not completely dry. Still very beautiful and gorgeous hike. I agree with others, there is no loop.

The rain in the last couple years has left this trail a bit overgrown. Be patient and watch your footing. Beautiful hike!

I did a loop something like this yesterday, but after visiting the Falls I came back on the Massacre Falls trail about 200 feet. I then spotted cairn on a ridge to the west, and a faint trail leading down into the wash, and leading in that direction. When I got to that cairn I spotted another to the west, so I kept on going. The trail got much better, and connected to a trail that went up a big wash to the south, I went north and back to the parking lot on the Wind Gap trail. 6.2 miles RT. With all the rain the vegetation is growing fast and trails like this will be hard to follow in the future.

This map is not accurate. There is no loop and following it wouldn't have brought us to the waterfall. It's beautiful and we enjoyed the trail and views.

Great trail - wraps around the back side of Superstition. Went Dec 5 from 2 to 530. Perfect weather only saw a couple people. Wear boots if ya have em it’s muddy in some spots. Trail wasn’t that hard to find but didn’t find the loop.

First couple miles are easy to navigate and well defined. Once we got up a bit higher near some high spire-like features, it became increasingly difficult to navigate. We eventually found cairns to aid, but carly wasn’t crazy about the route finding. Once massacre trail was found, easy-peasy.

If you are going to do this when it’s getting warm get there early. We started at 8 and it was too hot by 10 with kids. Adults will be fine. Save this one for a cold day if you bring children.

Had to go out and back because doing trail counter clockwise we couldn't find the trail to take us the rest of the way around after we got to farthest point.

Awesome views and really fun to explore. When you get to the waterfall it’s all worth it. Wear some good shoes because it was raining when I went and a bit slippery. Also, there are tons of rocks so good shoes are a requirement :)
