Great views if you turn around on your way to the pools. Because it’s getting warmer there are a lot of smaller bugs that enjoy flying all around you. Some bees as well. There was some water in the pools but not much. The last mile of the hike on the way to the pools is where you understand why the hike is rated hard. Bring lots of water. There is barely any shade during the hike.

Lots and lots of bugs. Reached a place with a bunch of boulders and green rocks and could not find where the trail continued to, even looking at the map.

Beautiful rock formations and lots of wildflowers among the cactus. A little water flowing in the pools- but still pretty green. Will probably dry up soon. Lots of bugs but no bites that I could tell. Just get zen about them. Hit the trail at 7am, and the first 1/2 was nice and shady, but full on sun for the big climb and all the way back. If you’re hitting the trail after 9am this time of year, good luck. Definitely a Oct-March hike.

Great trail. Challenging with moderate incline and some nice shady flat spots. Take plenty of water, more than you think you need! I ran out on the way up. The stream was flowing and cooling off in the water was a nice treat. The pools are not as high and will likely dry up soon so catch this hike will you can.

Much less water than there was a couple weeks ago, and it’s definitely summer time- so more water is better. Still an amazing hike with amazing views and definitely one of my favorites! Happy Trails Friends! (:

always a fun trail however there is a misleading trail that takes you through a very intense hike vertically mostly the whole time then intersects back into the normal trail.

Beautiful hike taking you to a hidden creek in the canyon. Not that many people either, although that might be because of the shutdown.

The last mile is where the majority of the elevation is. Great hike! I would say it's more of a moderate personally but my husband would tell you it was hard.

Trail is pretty straight forward until roughly 2 miles in before you hit a section of switchbacks and elevation climb. Once you hit the top it flattens out a bit. There’s a stream that you follow most of the way, so if you have a water filter of some sort, you have water access if you run out. Maiden pools are a very small climb down from the trail and there’s a small, but distinct path that leads down to them off on the right. Water level was pretty low today (4/17), but still pretty!

Wonderfully balanced incline hike with a nice canyon feel (similar to Pima Canyon hike) with lots of water and the pools were definitely waist deep and wonderful to get in! Lots of nice areas to hang along the creek, I loved this hike! My watch showed the distance was about a mile longer than the 5.6 stated on AllTrails. Was a neat trail indeed! Happy Trails!

The trail was a good hike. I am not an experienced hiker on these types of trails but I did ok. Made it almost to Maiden Pools but not quite. We made it to the top ridge. It was a fabulous view. Take plenty of water and I recommend starting early to beat the heat. I lived walking across all the creek areas. Enjoy b

Hiked with Barb, Larry, Carmen, Linda, Kirk, Bill, and I.

Crowded after 9:00. Wildflowers are beautiful though, and the stream is flowing nicely, which I've never seen before.
