Not much shade along the trail as far as break spots are concerned, but a solid workout with steady elevation gain.

Nice trail. Moderate difficulty in the beginning during uphill but the downhill after the first half mile makes it much easier. We did run into a snake on this trail so be aware of your surroundings! This was awesome for an evening hike!

Took a slight detour (seperate trail) to get a better view of the sunset, was NOT disappointed. Hiked down in the dark afterwards without any issues.

This really needs to be set up as a new trail in AllTrails because the names of the trails on AllTrails do not match whatsoever the signs on the mountain itself. The signs on the mountain are listed as the Hau’Pal Trail which is a loop from the 19th Ave Parking lot. If you go clockwise it is very steep after the first half mile until you reach the ridge line which can have some pretty scary and narrow crossings on top of the ridges. Then you get to the descend and it’s pretty steep but luckily we had rain yesterday so it was a little firmer than it would normally be. They were also quite a few loose rocks and then you get about halfway down and it totally opens up with very easy footing kind of like Pinnacle Peak. Our recording is incomplete because we had stopped a few times and I forgot to turn it back on so it is really about 0.6 miles longer than what is shown or a total of 3.1 miles.

Definitely a heart pumper and lung burner for someone who's out of shape, so the moderate rating is quite accurate. I ended up turning back after half an hour, too tired to do anymore incline. Went counterclockwise as suggested in some of the reviews. I'll try again sometime but start in the other direction to compare. Started at 3:15 PM and was looking for a nice short hike as was later in the day. Great workout for the legs, primarily the quads. Need to be careful on the way back down with the loose rock.

Great trail! I’m a beginner, so this was great to get my feet wet in hiking alone. Highly recommend!

Great hike, kid friendly. The map on the app needs to be updated as the trail and the map don’t align.

Nice climb in the beginning- not a lot of blooming going on. Path is narrow in spots - single file

We went counter clockwise. It was a fun hike with good views the first 2/3 the hike. The steep decline was a bit challenging with all the loose rocks. Last third was also bad because we spent the entire time dodging horse shit. It was everywhere and lots of it. Overall fun and quick hike.

Completed on a Tuesday morning, met other hikers on the trail, not too crowded. Completed counterclockwise which means starting with an incline that doesn’t have a ton of switchbacks which definitely gets the heart rate up! Main elevation gain is over a 0.7 mile span. Then much more gradual on the downhill and back to the parking lot. Good views down into Phoenix.

This was a great hike. There was a few places where there was a bit of elevation but nothing difficult at all. We took our four girls with us with ages ranging from 5-13 and we had no problems at all. We did the extended loop and took the Max Delta trail back. It took us about an hour and a half or so.

The beginning is definitely very steep and does take longer than expected to make that initial .70 miles can be quite a workout on the legs and calves to the first peak which can seem anti climactic but it does give a great option to loop back down or keep going on further to another peak or further down the canyon. It’s definitely a moderate to hard hike in the beginning because it’s pretty steep

Very rocky. Currently there is some construction in the area so it was a little noisy.
