Really enjoyed this trail. Beautiful cool spring day after light rain. Look forward to 311 open after Eagle nesting season to complete route around east side. West side with paved hard surface is quiet easy hike with scenic views if lake and pines.

Beautiful !!!!

The lake is completely full so the trail has changed to skirt the water on the east side. Real nice hike.

Really nice, easy hike. The backside (unpaved) was much nicer but some slight rocky obstacles. Maybe not appropriate for your 65-year old mother, unless she's a regular hiker. Dogs absolutely loved it.

I'm a beginner hiker and loved it here. Beautiful! I went around 9am today (Good Friday) and there were people in the paved trail but no one in the backside of the trail. Can't wait to go back.

A pretty easy stroll. Be prepared to get your feet wet when crossing stream and possibly at the spillway.

This was a fun trail. Beautiful scenery and unexpected turns make for little adventure. The west side is very easy – mostly paved. The east side is more ‘moderate’ than easy… maybe because more water flow than usual? Need to cross via rocks at the south end – up Lynx Creek; then again at the spillway of the dam – over logs (or take off shoes and wade through the water). Not difficult, just unexpected.
Used an app to measure distance from the south lot around the east side to the north lot, which was 2.2 miles. So, the round trip may be more like 3.5 miles. FYI, the map on this site shows a red path across the south end of the lake that would need a boat – need to walk upstream in order to cross.

This is probably my favorite all-around trail. Paved on one side, and naturally rocky on the other, so the loop gives you both. Easy but fun on the rocky side, a nice length, and shady in many parts so it's good even on a warm day. Tie it in with some lunch at the Lynx Lake Cafe at the north end for a nice afternoon...love their hummingbird feeders!

Easy trail. Saw red eared turtles. Water on trail by dam.
